Questions

Things people ask before they inquire.

Straight answers about how Lisa works, where she works and what happens after you get in touch.

Working with Lisa

Why hire an event planner?

A planner gives you something no checklist can: one experienced person responsible for the whole event. Lisa Ivler Events handles the logistics, the vendor communication and the timing, along with the moments nobody planned for. Lisa anticipates needs before they arise, so the day unfolds with ease and you get to be a guest at your own celebration.

What kinds of events does Lisa Ivler plan?

Weddings and bar and bat mitzvahs, plus social and corporate events: milestone birthdays, Sweet 16s, retirement celebrations, fundraisers, corporate events, showroom openings and galas. Destination weddings are planned by inquiry.

Where does Lisa Ivler Events plan events?

Across New York City, New Jersey, Westchester, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Recent rooms include the Edison Ballroom in Times Square, Lavan in Chelsea, The Plaza, the Moxy Williamsburg, Crystal Plaza in Livingston, The Highlawn in West Orange and Stone House at Stirling Ridge in Warren. Destination weddings are available by inquiry.

Will we work with Lisa herself?

Yes. Lisa is personally available to you throughout the process, from the first call to the last dance. On event day she adds assistants according to the guest count and how much is happening at once, and she remains the lead.

Is Lisa the designer or the florist?

Neither. Lisa provides creative direction and coordination. She starts with your Pinterest board, walks the venue with you and holds a working session with your florist or designer. Decisions stay yours; Lisa curates them so the room, the flowers, the lighting and the signage tell one story.

Can you help us choose vendors?

Yes. Lisa recommends vendors she has worked with, unless another vendor has a very strong reputation. She weighs reliability first, then quality, the working relationship and experience.

Services

How does full-service planning work?

Lisa secures the venue first, then the entertainment, then the photographer. The second wave covers videography and design and decor, plus a hotel room block if you need one. You get a roadmap with milestones at twelve, nine, six and three months out, the final month and event week, each one a meeting with Lisa.

Do you offer month-of coordination?

Yes. Month-of coordination starts six weeks before the event. Lisa builds the timeline herself rather than taking over someone else's. She draws a floor plan if the venue doesn't have one, prepares a ceremony diagram and a gratuity guide, collects insurance certificates from every vendor, coordinates the final meetings and runs the rehearsal.

How involved is Lisa in designing a mitzvah?

Very. For mitzvahs Lisa leads the creative direction for the whole room: the color palette, decor, lounges, signage, rentals, linens and the photo booth and backdrop. The graphic designer creates the theme phrase and logo, and Lisa carries it through everything guests see.

Do you plan destination weddings?

Yes, by inquiry, for couples marrying in the United States, Mexico, Jamaica and Europe. Lisa has toured resorts and venues in Mexico, Jamaica and Croatia. The planning discipline is the same as at home: venue first, then the vendor team, then the timeline and the guest travel that a destination adds.

Can you work within corporate budgets and vendor approvals?

Yes. Lisa is comfortable with budgets, procurement and vendor approvals. She manages quotes and confirms that every partner meets your company's standards, so your team can focus on hosting.

Getting started

How does pricing work?

Every proposal is written for the event. After an initial consultation, Lisa sends a proposal that sets out the services and planning support she recommends.

How do we get started?

Send an inquiry with your date, location and guest count. Lisa reads every inquiry herself and replies within one business day. The next step is an initial consultation by phone about your vision and budget. It is a conversation, not a qualification form.

When should we book?

For a wedding or a mitzvah, a year or more ahead is comfortable: the venue, the entertainment and the photographer go first and the best ones book early. Smaller celebrations can come together faster. If your date is close, ask anyway.
